Manic Monday

Believe it or not folks, this past weekend was the first weekend since Wayne and I were in Hawaii that I did not do something CDA related all weekend. It was Wayne's birthday and we totally relaxed. Saturday Wayne and I went around test driving trucks (Wayne wants a non work related truck) and then we went to see the Watchmen. After the movie we stopped at a friends house for coffee until midnight.
I spent some time knitting my woodland shawl and painting terracotta pots. All in all it was a great weekend.
Now, it's back to work. I'm counting down the days until I can say goodbye to business casual clothing and sleep in until 8am!
Yay!

Let the Journaling Begin!

It's about time that I have begun to journal!
It's Friday! I'm looking forward to a weekend of relaxation. I'm moving into a month of pure mayhem, mayhem, mayhem.
I am leaving my job at the Canadian Diabetes Association to go into business with my fiance. I'm looking forward to working from home and commuting a little less. Starting March 27th, 2009 I will be working both jobs for two weeks. I will continue to be the face of the Canadian Diabetes Association's Team Diabetes Canada. If you are wondering what the hell I'm talking about, it all started when I was asked by my boss Fred, to participate in the filming of the following national PSA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItVlHDsEh ko. Since then my mug has been put on a brochure and www.diabetes.ca. I love Team Diabetes, even though I am pursuing new business opportunities. I will continue to be an active participant in the Team Diabetes program, I am currently fundraising to run the Easter Island Half Marathon. I think I'm going to start using Live Journal to update all of my friends, family and donors on my fundraising progress. Today's fundraising total is $3,128.43. Therefore I have $4871.76 left to fundraising before the end of April 2009. Half Way Motors Nissan in Thunder Bay has offered to assist me with my fundraising by helping me host a series of BBQ's throughout the month of April. Thank you John Trevisanutto from Half Way Motors!
